Born and raised in Maryland, Jessica moved south to North Carolina to attend East Carolina University (Go pirates!) and then Campbell University School of Law. She decided to stay in North Carolina and make it her home.

She started her career as an Assistant District Attorney where she enjoyed serving her community. She prosecuted several types of cases, including violent offenses, property crimes, financial crimes, driving while impaired, domestic violence crimes, and drug crimes. Over the course of 6 years, she tried hundreds of cases in front of judges and juries.

In 2016, she switched gears to civil litigation, working in personal injury and then workers' compensation. She has represented numerous plaintiffs in their injury claims, including numerous multi-million dollar claims and recoveries. 

​

In 2021, she felt the calling to teach the law and began teaching Business Law at Southern New Hampshire University. In 2022, she started teaching law full time at Cape Fear Community College. While she greatly enjoyed teaching, she felt the need to help her community again, and in 2025, she returned to a law firm full time. 

​

Jessica is married and has a toddler son and a yorkie named Penny. When Jessica isn't working, you can find her at the beach or pool, reading, playing with her son, and redecorating her home one room at a time.
